Land Based Training was established in 1996 to provide learners with a practical pathway into New Zealand’s primary industries. Over time, we have evolved alongside the agriculture sector to deliver relevant, hands-on training that reflects the skills and knowledge needed in modern farming and rural workplaces, with programmes spanning from Level 2 upwards.
In 2025, Land Based Training amalgamated with New Zealand Management Academies (NZMA). Land Based Training is now one of the trading names of the registered PTE New Zealand Management Academies Ltd. Your enrolment is with New Zealand Management Academies Ltd, and your qualification is issued by NZMA, a Category 1 provider — the highest quality rating awarded by the New Zealand Government.

Our programmes enhance employment opportunities by focusing on practical skills and real agricultural practice. Led by experienced industry tutors, learners are supported and challenged to meet employer expectations, preparing them for careers in the primary sector or further study.
