Land Based Training welcomed the Hawke's Bay community to its Hastings campus on Wednesday 22 July 2026 to celebrate a new chapter for the region's land-based training, as the campus transitions to the NZMA Hastings name.
The move builds on nearly 30 years of hands-on training delivered by Land Based Training in Hawke's Bay, with the same trusted local team continuing to deliver practical, industry-focused learning in horticulture, pest operations, agriculture, apiculture and other land-based industries.
The change is an evolution rather than a replacement, with the local team now backed by the wider scale, resources and opportunities of NZMA, while keeping its hands-on training approach front and centre.
"For nearly 30 years, our team has been proud to train Hawke's Bay's land-based workforce, and that won't change under the NZMA Hastings name," said Campus Manager Megan Hobden.
"What does change is what sits behind us — the strength, scale and resources of NZMA, backing the same trusted local team our students and employers already know. It means even stronger pathways and support for the hands-on, practical training we're known for, plus the added opportunity for our students to explore NZMA's wider range of programmes if they want to broaden their study options.

NZMA Hastings will continue to play an important role in developing the skilled workforce Hawke's Bay needs, working alongside local employers and industry partners to ensure training remains connected to real, in-demand work across the region.
